Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology

teaching to a high standard

The Founder and history of the School

Founder – Maureen Burgess 1925 – 2019

Maureen ran a successful Reflexology practice for many years before deciding she wanted to share her knowledge, passion and experience. Having fulfilled the requirements of the Association of Reflexologists (of which she was one of the first members) she opened her first school in Barnes, South London in 1989. Her courses were very popular and interest grew rapidly so that she soon had to find new premises at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton. Following her own move to East Grinstead in 2000 she moved the school to Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead where it has been based ever since.

Maureen was always passionate about her reflexology and remained active until well into her 90’s inspiring a new generation of Reflexologists as she went. In 2018 her work was recognised and she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement by the Association of Reflexologists.

Sadly no longer with us but we strive to maintain the standards and ethos that she created and continue her legacy for the future.
